Rev. Mark Porter

Harmony Community Development Corp. Executive Director

Mark Porter is a native of Gonzales, Texas. Rev. Porter received an associate degree from Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas. He also graduated from Texas A & M – Commerce, in Commerce, Texas receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. He later attended Southern Bible Institute in Dallas, Texas and completed a four-year program in Theology. He completed courses in Ministry Leadership at Criswell College.

In his 15-year career at Bank of America, he gained experience and exposure in several leadership and support roles in operations, customer service, employee relations and training & development while achieving officer title of Vice President.

Mark has been in the ministry for over 25 years. Mark accepted the call into full-time ministry in January 2009 as Senior Associate Pastor at the Concord Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bryan L. Carter. Mark served on the Concord Church staff as Senior Associate Pastor of Missions. Focused on local and global missions.

Currently, Mark is the Executive Director for Harmony Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization focused on strengthening families and revitalizing neighborhoods in the southern sector of Dallas, TX. Harmony serves 9,000 individuals through their food pantry, resource center and counseling center. He has served in this role with Harmony for the past seven years.

While at Bank of America, he met the love of his life, Mary Myers, a native of Columbia, South Carolina. They have been happily married for 20 years. They have three children (Shadale, Mark Anthony and Kaelyn) and two grandchildren (Autumn, Sydney).
