Rev. Sione 'John' Finau

Rev. John Fe’ao- moe-Lotu Vaiosi Hatini Finau, also known as Sione. His passion for ministry started at a young age when staying in Fiji as missionaries. His experience in Fiji brought him closer to his faith and Polynesian roots. In 2005, Sione was enrolled into a Methodist boarding school at Wesley College in New Zealand. It was while attending Wesley College, that he received my call into ministry. With a renewed sense of purpose, he applied and was enrolled into Hawaii Pacific University at the age of 17. This blessing was gifted to him through the grace and love of a special mentor and friend – Rev. Dr. Frank Butterworth. In 2012, Sione graduated with a B.A in Communication. In that same year, he enrolled into Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia for a Masters in Divinity. His experience in Atlanta, not only enriched his spiritual life but also affirmed that he wanted to become a Pastor. In 2015, he graduated with his Masters in Divinity and was appointed to Keolumana United Methodist Church in Kailua, Hi. His time at Keolumana, shaped him to be a better leader and servant for God. And after serving faithfully for five years, he was then appointed to Parker UMC.
Sione has a variety of passions. He loves all forms of worship, building relationships and seeking creative ways to be the church in the community. On his down time he loves to hike, play with his new puppy (J.J), or simply watch a movie.
