Pastor Lyda Eddington

Pastor Lyda Eddington is a native of Los Angeles. In 2019, she was appointed as Pastor of Westchester UMC, and has been a pastor since 2012. Lyda’s training in the arts brought her to ministry by a circuitous route: from performer to teacher to Director of Music to Pastor! Lyda is an advocate for the arts and mental wellness and believes that the church has a vital role to play in feeding bodies, minds and spirits. Lyda’s ministry has incorporated partnerships with PATH, Suicide Prevention & Awareness at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, and was named a “Hero of Hope” in 2018 for her work in Suicide Prevention. Lyda serves on the California Pacific Conference’s LGBTQ Task Force and is a member of CLUE. She promotes the intersection of faith, wellness, the arts, and social justice, and brings her passion and creativity to all she does.
