FACE t-shirt Design Highlighting the victims of the LA Riots

For the 30th Anniversary we lifted up the names of the 2300 business owners who lost their livelihoods and the 63 victims who lost their lives during the LA Riots. Many of these names had gone unacknowledged in the past but we have placed them front and center on this year's t-shirt design.

T-shirts can be ordered for $20. Get yours now!

Reflecting on the LA Riots: 30 Years Later

AACC

April 29 @5pm PST

In 1992, after a jury acquitted all four officers of assault and three of four using excessive force against Rodney King, whose brutalization by police officers was recorded, a series of riots occurred throughout South Central, culminating in Koreatown of Los Angeles.
These events revealed the deep roots of racial injustice caused by white supremacy as well as the ensuing inter-minority tensions that continue to reverberate to this day. The LA Riots were an inflection point in history, and a point for the church to step in and apply the reconciling power of the gospel into the areas that racism and systemic injustice took hold.
Reverend Mark E. Whitlock, Reverend Hyepin Im, Dr. Alexander Jun, and Dr. Leon Harris will engage in a conversation moderated by Pastor Raymond Chang that will help us remember what took place 30 years ago and what we can learn from those events.
Join this event to hear from a Korean American and an African American Christian leader on what they saw, heard, and sensed in LA, what our communities need, and how their faith informs their work in moving towards healing.
