Sal Mendoza serves as senior vice president and manager of City National Bank’s Community Reinvestment Department.
He is responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the bank’s CRA qualified lending, investment and service activities and spearheads advocacy and related outreach activities.
Mr. Mendoza played a critical role in the negotiation of the bank’s 5 year, $11 billion dollar community commitment, which began subsequent to the bank’s merger with the Royal Bank of Canada in January 2016.
Mr. Mendoza is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services, the largest, non-profit affordable homeownership provider in Southern California. He also is a member of the boards of directors of People Assisting the Homeless and the San Fernando Valley Financial Development Corporation and a member of the Executive Council of the City Scholars Foundation. He also chairs the bank’s Latino Advisory Board, which supports business development in the Latino community.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business and social science from California State Polytechnic University, in Pomona, Calif., and a human resources management certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
