Maurice began working in the Office of Senator Barbara Boxer in 2010 as a Constituent Representative working on immigration, housing, and healthcare. He was later promoted to Senior Field Representative in Senator Boxer’s Office where he covered Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
He left Senator Boxer’s Office in 2016 and began working on Workforce policy to support disconnected transition-aged youth for the San Diego Youth Development Office.
In 2018, Maurice began working at the University of California, San Diego – School of Medicine, as a Community Health Worker/Research Associate supporting research of youth on probation and trauma.
Maurice joined Governor Newsom’s Administration in November 2019 when he opened the San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties Regional Office of the Governor. This office covers San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties.
He graduated from the University of California with a B.A. in Political Science, & African American Studies.
