Dr. Rhea Kim brings wealth of entrepreneurial leadership experience in building and successful business negotiations, organizational leadership, and high-quality research as the Co-Founder and CEO of StilettoGal, a multi-media company that supports women entrepreneurs and leaders. She is also the Chief Research and Development Officer at Haig Barrett, Inc., a global marketing consulting firm working with world class brands across various industries (clients include Toyota, Hyundai, Johnson & Johnson, and Lexus). Dr. Kim is well versed in executive coaching, target marketing, leadership development and empowerment. Dr. Kim also brings experience working with various high-profile public entities including the White House, State of CA, LA County, City of LA, and the Olympics through her work in campaigns and various marketing and PR work. She brings extensive experience in luxury brands in real estate, apparel, fragrance, and art at Sotheby’s, House of St. John, House of Bijan, and Bijan Fragrances. Her expertise brought revenue generation, branding, and marketing transformation in international sales, new product development, client retention, and comprehensive advertising and marketing plans. Her deep network with the International Asian market and high-asset individuals adds to her qualification.
Dr. Kim is also a Founder and CEO of a non-profit Arts Academy for youths in L.A., called The Open Academy. Dr. Kim started this organization in 2009 to help foster the creative thinking and artistic skills of students (K-12) in the greater L.A. area. The program served over 800 students thus far with receiving support from USC, US Bank, Wells Fargo, and many other businesses and organizations. Dr. Kim has been serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. Dr. Kim is active in research in areas of Diversity – both quantitative and qualitative. Dr. Kim’s dissertation on “Asian American Females in Leadership Positions in Higher Education” is scheduled for publication. Dr. Kim firmly believes in giving back to the community. As a proud Korean-American raised in Los Angeles, she dedicates her time to serving the Korean community by teaching non-English speaking Korean elders preparing to become U.S. Citizens, English and US History. Dr. Kim also runs a non-profit arts academy for underserved youths in the Greater L.A. area. Dr. Kim was nominated for the KCET’s “Local Hero Award” in 2009, 2010, and 2011 for her contribution in the community. Dr. Kim is actively involved in various business and community affiliations including LA Chamber, NAWBO, World Affairs Council, USC Town & Gown, and LAEDC. Dr. Kim received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Roski School of Fine Arts of the University of Southern California, both Master’s degree and Doctorate from University of Southern California. Dr. Kim is fluent in Korean and semi-fluent in French.
