John J. Choi

John has over 20+ years of finance and marketing experience driving growth in consumer electronics, startups, and nonprofits. Before joining New York Life, John was a Co-Founder and CFO of Molecule, a startup performance mattress/sleep products company that was successfully acquired, as well as working in corporate marketing and finance for Samsung and JBL. John also served as pastor at one of the largest churches in New York and later was involved in church planting in Los Angeles. Currently at New York Life/Eagle Strategies Wealth Management, John helps clients and business owners to maximize investment and retirement balances with customized, professionally managed portfolios, minimize taxes using tax-free and tax-efficient strategies, and protect loved ones, assets and income through creative and comprehensive insurance solutions. He is President of the Board for Angeles Samaritan Mission, which has a vision to teach and preach the gospel, build houses of worship, and do word and deed ministry in underserved countries such as Malaysia, Cambodia, and Nigeria. John received his A.B. from Brown University, M.Div. from Westminster Seminary, and M.B.A. from Yale University.
